Username & Profile URL Policy
Creators may claim a custom profile URL in the form /creator/<username>. Usernames are first-come, first-served, but they are licensed, not owned. HELLO Labs reserves the right to reclaim, rename, or release any username at its sole discretion when, in our judgment, doing so is necessary to protect intellectual property, public figures, the community, or the integrity of the platform.
Grounds for reclaim
- Trademark or brand impersonation. Usernames that match registered trademarks, official brand names, or that are designed to mislead users about affiliation with a brand.
- Impersonation of a person. Pretending to be another creator, public figure, employee of HELLO Labs, or any real individual.
- Inactivity. Accounts that show no meaningful activity (no approved drops, tips, duels, or sign-ins) for an extended period: typically 12 months: may have their custom username released back to the pool. The underlying account remains intact and reachable via its UUID URL.
- Abuse or policy violations. Hate speech, harassment, illegal content, repeated rule breaches, or any conduct that violates our community guidelines.
How reclaims are handled
For clear cases: verified trademark complaints, obvious impersonation of a real person, or content that endangers users · HELLO Labs may reclaim a username immediately and without prior notice. For all other cases (including inactivity and contested brand claims) we will make reasonable efforts to contact the current holder before any change is made, and to give them a window to respond or rename voluntarily.
When a username is reclaimed, the affected creator's account, drops, tips, follows, and earnings are preserved in full. Only the public URL changes; the profile remains reachable at its default /creator/<id> URL until a new username is chosen.
Reporting a username
Rights holders, public figures, and community members can report a username for impersonation or trademark abuse by contacting HELLO Labs support. Please include the username in question, the basis for the claim, and any documentation (trademark registration, proof of identity, links to the offending profile).
This policy is provided for transparency and is not legal advice. Trademark, defamation, and impersonation claims are jurisdiction-specific; rights holders should consult their own counsel before pursuing any legal remedy. HELLO Labs' participation in a username reclaim does not constitute a legal determination on the merits of any underlying dispute.
